Why Savour the seasons?

Throughout the year we experience the four seasons of nature: autumn, winter, spring and summer. They remind us of the ebb and flow of life; they teach us about change, possibilities and limitations. They offer us physical and spiritual lessons, whether it be in our walk with God; our relationships with others; our work and vocations; our bodies; our minds - there are seasons.

Beginnings. Ends. Pauses. Turn-arounds. Upside-downs. Pruning. Harvesting.
Hibernation. Flourishing.

So often we push ourselves against the season we are in. When it’s cold we long for warmth, then when it’s too hot we long for cool. When life is hectic we long for stillness, then when life is quiet we long for busyness. I came to realise that in choosing to "savour the seasons" I was choosing to accept the season I am in at that moment - to embrace on it's unique offerings, beauty and challenges.

You will find my reflections, stories, poems and recipes on the seasons here, my hope is that they will bring you some joy or curiosity - help you savour the seasons too...
